Waiting on Wednesday: Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza

Some of my favourite things are badass female characters and space, so you can imagine my excitement when I read the synopsis for this one;

30269126Empress
Rhee, better known as Crown Princess Rhiannon Ta’an, is the sole surviving heir to a powerful dynasty. She’ll stop at nothing to avenge her family and claim her throne.

Fugitive
Aly has risen above his war refugee origins to find fame as the dashing star of a holo-vision show. But when he’s falsely accused of killing Rhee, he’s forced to prove his innocence to save his reputation – and his life.

Madman
With planets on the brink of war, Rhee and Aly are thrown together to confront a ruthless evil that threatens the fate of the entire galaxy.

I also love the ‘thrown together to save the world’ trope (you can probably tell) so this book sounds right up my street. The publishers have likened it to the Lunar Chronicles and Red Rising, which is also very exciting.

I also seen some talk of diverse PoC characters, and the author is Filipino, so thats also something to look forward to!

This will be the first of two books, with the second hopefully published in 2018.

Also that cover is so amazingly beautiful!

This releases on;

7th February 2017

so not that long to wait in the scheme of things. I’m about to go and put this one on my never ending wishlist.
